Technorati, world’s number one blog search engine also known for it’s blog ranking. Today, I got an email from Technorati as part of informing their ongoing changes in their portal. Let’s see what are those changes and how will they affect your blog?

- Technorati will no longer consider Blogroll links in any blogs.
- Technorati now will rely highly on RSS and Atom feeds.
- Your links from blogs which offer only partial feeds will no longer be considered when counting your blog’s authority. Means your links will no longer be available in Technorati if they are from partial feed blogs.

So, don’t forget to make necessary changes to your blog to maintain your blog’s growth. And one good news for you all! Now you can be a Technorati Writer from October, 2009. Technorati is going to feature unique articles in their site which will help you to gain much popularity among the bloggers. to become a Technorati Writer.

Technorati is the best platform for bloggers to interact with each other and to know about any blog’s status.
I don’t think new changes will harm.

I don’t think I’ve ever received any traffic from Technorati either, but maybe it requires you to have some kind of traffic first (or authority) before you will get to see traffic from them.

Interesting article. Back in the early days, making a good score in Technorati meant a lot for both bloggers and webmasters. Nowadays though I believe there are little attention being payed to it.
About the new system, so it’s going to be a back to basics RSS scheming. Well that’s pretty much good news for those who have high subscriber count

By the way, how do you get the “BlogrPro Comment Subscription Manager” to be within your site design? Usually when one visits that page it’s just a blank page with text on it, but yours are inside your design – that’s great. Care you share or maybe do a blog post about it? I’m very interested to know your secret

Now Technorati is focusing on the content from a blog only because there are thousands of blogs coming up daily and that’s why Technorati is putting some check on that.
Let’s see how it goes in future.

Hello,
If Technorati is not going to value blogroll links then in what type of link exchange programs we should follow…Only natural 1 way link???Also your blog have a good number of comments which means your readers are interacting with you which is a good sign.
Thanks
Sep 08, 2009 @ 5:02 PM
@Neo,
Glad to see you here. First of all, you should know that no search engine is allowing those blogroll link exchanges and search engines like Google sometimes punish such link exchange people by banning their site. So try to maintain quality in a blog and you will get automatic natural links.
And yes. We have some very good regular readers and they participate and share their views here like you.
Sep 10, 2009 @ 1:00 AM
@Karthik Hi, what do you mean by natural link? I can’t understand. Google love link exchange if both the sites are on different servers. Google hate link buying tricks. Technorati authority is really very valuable for any blog because it decides Technorati rank.
Himanshu´s last blog ..10 bad blogging habits you must avoid
Sep 10, 2009 @ 6:50 PM
@Himanshu,
A natural link is like a link that you got because of the quality and unique content in it. Even though Google love link exchanges from sites on different servers, the rule is not same for all sites. You may be frustrated with many emails from nay people who have asked link exchange without knowing what it means really. That’s what I said.
Getting attention and acknowledgment is the thumb rule for natural links.
Sep 12, 2009 @ 8:29 AM
I think removing the blogroll links is actually a very good thing, at least for me since I won’t pay for links and I generally don’t like asking for link exchanges with people outside my niche.
Sep 12, 2009 @ 5:39 PM
@wine of month club,
That’s really a good motive overall. Sometimes link exchanges are very useful. But we should not prefer that one always.
Oct 08, 2009 @ 2:56 PM
nice post Karthik
