    Hi,

    I just love WordPress. It opens many doors for you and it’s very easy to use.

    I also like the idea that plugin developers write new plugins as the times change and there is almost a plugin for anything you desire.

        You are right, sorry.

        Maybe phpPgAdmin could complement phpMyAdmin.

          phpMyAdmin is for MySQL and phpPgAdmin is for PostgreSQL. But phpMyAdmin is the most popular one than phpPgAdmin.

    Wordpress is nasty. Especially the MU edition. It’s full of bugs, full of errors and not very stable on high loads. It has an extremely poor database design and an extremely poor code. What pisses me off is that they say their code is poetry :S

      @Rakan,
      I think you misunderstood about a good open source code. Wordpress is good and reliable and hence it is widely used by many bloggers. Also Wordpress is internet’s most used blogging platform.

    By the way, I’d add Magento (http://www.magentocommerce.com/) is a “new” very powerful e-commerce platform.

    Zend Framework
    Typo3

      @Renjith,
      Happy to see you here.
      And I have added those 10 apps based on the popularity and reliability of them. Even though Typo3 is good, it is not yet so popular and well built. And Zend is a framework used for developing PHP apps and hence I didn’t add it here. Hope you understand my points. Thanks for sharing your views here.

        Cool But you have quoted that “Web’s popular and powerful web based products developed in PHP.”
        Zend Framework is very much Popular, Powerfull and is a Product Developed in PHP.
        and regarding Typo3, I will not agree with you that typo3 is not well bbuilt and popular. It is built on Flow3.. I think, dont need to explain what is flow3.. and is very much poplar in european countries. Only one problem in typo3 is it need some patience to learn it…
        Correct me if I am wrong

          @Renjith,
          As a php developer, I thought that Typo3 can be developed much better than what it exists now. As you have stated, the ease of learning is not good in Typo3 and hence I thought of not including that. But I agree with you that Typo3 is not a worst thing in anyway. It is one of the best thing to be listed in this list. Thanks for sharing some very good information about the most popular Typo3.
          You are sharing very good details. I request you to write some guest posts here if you like it.

    Umm. I would probably say you would want to include Magento in your next list to replace osCommerce. It may not have as many downloads as osCommerce but it is definitely more powerful and WAY better programmed.

    osCommerce was what was the best available at its time, and their reign has fallen.

      @Brian,
      In the recent days, I am getting so many recommendations for Magento. I have to try it in detail and will come to a conclusion. As you have said, I agree that more no. of downloads will not mean that it is powerful.

      Thanks for sharing about Magento. Surely will add it in my article.
